The inability to indentify the weapon has hindered the progress of the investigation, and the police are of the opinion that the absence of evidence is due to the impeccable planning the killer had charted days ahead of the act.According to Shaji, the ornaments which were worn by the victim at the time of death and the gold weighing about 30 sovereigns, were stolen by the time he returned home.The police have not taken this version into confidence.
