KOZHIKODE: While CPM leaders in Kerala and West Bengal are scratching their heads over how to regain the lost glory in their traditional strongholds at the 20th Party Congress here at the Tagore Centenary Hall, cadre in Haryana are busy building a party from scratch.Despite losing all the seats the CPM contested in Haryana, state secretary Inderjit Singh considers that the party’s ability to field candidates in several seats a significant gain. Inderjit is optimistic about the prospects of the party in the state and sees an opportunity to strike a balance with the Congress and the BJP in Haryana. “There is significant anger prevailing against both the UPA and the BJP. The discontent is mainly due to the imposition and intensification of neo-liberal policies which has affected the toiling masses adversely. When we sincerely took up the issues of these basic sections, the response has been very good,” he said.
