CPM nod for Jacobs candidature

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The CPM state secretariat has given its nod for M J Jacob to be the LDF candidate in the bypoll slated to be held in the Piravom Assembly segment soon.The candidature will be forwarded for the approval of the CPM state committee, which will meet here for  the next two days. CPM politburo member S Ramachandran Pillai will preside over the meets. The secretariat meet also decided to put up an intense fight at Piravom, where the late minister T M Jacob’s son Anoop Jacob will be in the fray as the UDF candidate, by assigning the campaign work under the leadership of party secretariat members in each grama panchayats falling under the segment.The secretariat meet also took a serious view of the factionalism in the party which is evident with regard to grassroots level organisational polls, especially in places like Kasargod, and decided to keep the trend under check.
