KOCHI: The Deputy Transport Commissioner’s (DTC) office organised a one-day workshop for drivers of educational institutions as part of the awareness campaign on road safety. In all, 107 drivers attended the class that was conducted mainly for school vehicle drivers of Kakkanad. Motor Vehicle Inspector Adarsh Kumar, who conducted the session, said that the campaign primarily focused on two issues- one on the ‘causes and reduction of accidents’ and the other on ‘know your road and vehicle.’ “The sessions threw light on many facets of driving that the drivers were not aware of,” Adarsh Kumar said. As part of the campaign to put an end to reckless driving and ensuing mishaps, the DTC has been organising various classes for bus and truck drivers.“The parents have entrusted their children’s safety to you and it is your responsibility to keep the trust,” Deputy Transport Commissioner Sainuddin told the drivers.
