KOZHIKODE: K V Santhosh, Crime Branch DySP and member of the Special Investigation Team (SIT), has been deputed to frame the chargesheet and take up the legal proceedings in the T P Chandrasekharan murder case. Sources with the police maintained that DySP Santhosh has received the order from the DGP’s office. According to sources, SIT has identified the seven member gang involved in the murder after the forensic and fingerprint examination conducted in the Innova car seized after the incident. The police team is carrying out frequent raids in Kozhikode and Kannur districts to nab the culprits. The other five assailants apart from Rafeek and Kodi Suni are from Koothuparamba, Thalassery areas in Kannur district. There are clear indications that many of them have links with some district-level leaders of the CPM in Kannur, said the sources.The investigators received clues on these men after questioning some persons who were taken into custody from Chokli and Thalassery areas. It is learnt that the accused were associated with many attacks which were reportedly done for the CPM. According to sources, the SIT has prepared a list of 12 accused from the statements of the persons taken into custody. However, there are unconfirmed reports that a few accused are in custody of the police, but the SIT is yet to record any arrest in connection with the case.
