EcoSport impresses city roadies

CHENNAI: After its fab unveiling at the Delhi Auto Show, the Ford EcoSpirit raised a small storm when it was displayed at the Express Avenue Mall on Sunday. Styled in metallic orange and black, the glitzy ‘urban SUV’ as Ford calls it, drew all and sundry to the showspace to have a look and consider its pros and cons. The good news is that the EcoSpirit supposedly gives better mileage without hurting the environment too much. Also, if the SUV does roll out of their Chennai plant, customers in the city might get their vehicles first. As the interiors of the vehicle were hidden from public view, it piqued the interest of the Chennai audience who desperately lined up for peeks inside. The Facebook safety games, using a web-cam sensor and an online Facebook interface to check in your location alongside the car, were big draws for the afternoon crowd.
