The Delhi Police, which is investigating the city’s biggest-ever seizure of cocaine worth over Rs 7,000 crore, have issued issued look-out circulars (LOCs) for six individuals, including a UK national of Indian origin who left the country before the recent recovery of 208 kg of cocaine worth over Rs 2,000 crore from a rented shop in west Delhi.
According to police sources, the UK national, Savinder Singh, arrived in India last month to oversee the transportation and delivery of the 208 kg consignment, which is believed to have come from South America.
Sources indicate that Singh spent about 25 days in three different locations in Delhi before escaping to the UK shortly after the arrest of four other members of the syndicate on October 2.
“As of now, we have issued LOCs against half-a-dozen people, some of them foreign nationals. One of them is the person who kept 208 kg of cocaine hidden in west Delhi’s Ramesh Nagar and fled to the UK,” a police officer involved in the investigation said.
The officer further added that a dozen people suspected to be involved in the syndicate are on the radar of the police.
The Delhi Police had previously issued a look-out circular (LOC) for Dubai-based businessman Virender Basoya, also known as Veeru, who is suspected of being involved in the over Rs 5,000 crore cocaine consignment busted in southwest Delhi’s Mahipalpur last week.
Basoya is alleged to have operated the syndicate with the assistance of Tushar Goyal in India and Jitender Gill, alias Jassi, and Savinder Singh in the UK. While Goyal and Gill have been arrested, Basoya and Singh have not yet been apprehended, according to police officials.

Second drug bust within a week
Meanwhile, just a week after the initial drug bust, the Special Cell of the Delhi Police recovered another 208 kg of cocaine, valued at Rs 2,080 crore, from a rented shop in west Delhi on Thursday.
The cocaine was hidden in plastic packets labelled “Tasty Treat” and “Chatpata Mixture.” About 20 to 25 of these packets were found in cartons at the small shop located in the Ramesh Nagar area of west Delhi.
Sources said the shop owner informed the police that Singh had contacted him through a property dealer and rented the space for Rs 5,000 per month. The property dealer also received a commission for the transaction.
