HYDERABAD: The Headquarter Investigation Unit (HIU) of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has commenced its probe into charges of money laundering and forex violations against Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy by questioning Jagathi Publications Private Limited (JPPL) finance director and Jagan’s confidante Vijay Sai Reddy in Delhi for two consecutive days.After the ED headquarters in Delhi relieved the Hyderabad unit of ED of the probe, following certain allegations, it has been entrusted to the HIU of ED.Sources disclosed to Express that Vijay Sai Reddy submitted documents related to his finances and investments to the ED. The HIU team is headed by additional director RP Upadhyaya, a 1991 batch IPS officer of AGMUT cadre, assistant directors Rajeshwar Singh and Kamal Singh.The recently constituted HIU has already probed money laundering allegations involving Amar Singh. Probe into charges against Jagan is its second case.Sources said Vijay Sai Reddy was questioned, as part of the preliminary round of inquiry on November 15 and 16.The ED served notice on Jagan asking him to send authorised person carrying his power of attorney to answer questions on his behalf.
