HYDERABAD: Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FAPCCI) is conducting an industrial job fair on July 26 and 27 at the Federation House in Red Hills.FAPCCI president V S Raju said that a suitable platform like this to bring together industry experts and freshers is needed. "A good job is on everybody's list of priorities. It is the first time FAPCCI is holding such an event," he said and added that FAPCCI will act as a facilitator between the prospective employee and employers."Through the fair we hope to target the necessary talent suited to a company's requirements.We have also invited small and medium scale enterprises to provide freshers more options," said Raju. Apart from opportunities in popular sectors such as marketing, electronics, IT, banking, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, there will also be openings in agriculture and food processing industry, dairy technology, poultry and hatcheries, jute handicrafts, gems and jewellery.Such industries can fill the lacuna of unemployment in rural sectors, said the FAPCCI president.Commenting on unavailability of campus openings in many colleges this year, Raju says, "The situation of uncertainty has cost the trade and commerce as well as job-seekers. Bringing industries face-to-face with job aspirants is a good substitute for placement drives. We have rich manpower and tapping into it will lead to development of industries in the state." Depending on the response generated, FAPCCI plans to conduct similar events at district-level in the near future.So far 18 companies have registered for the job fair which starts at 10.30 a.m. on Tuesday.Over 3,000 participants have registered so far and number of vacancies are close to 500. Candidates from various streams including B.Tech, M.Tech and graduate diplomas are set to participate.
