VELLORE: Minister for Health Dr V S Vijay reviewed the ongoing work in the department of health at a meeting held at the Collectorate on Saturday. He advised officials in the department to fill up vacancies and wanted to know what steps were being taken to contain the rise in maternal deaths. He asked officials to appropriately use funds allocated and inquired if government hospitals had stocks of Copper-T. He also appealed for preventive measures to contain the spread of dengue and malaria.
