Google India's GOSF loses direction on launch day
A botched URL forwarding isn't a great start for what is named the Great Online Shopping Festival.

Update: Google India says it is still working to resolve the technical issues.

New Delhi: Google India's much-hyped 2nd edition of the Great Online Shopping Festival (GOSF) faltered on launch as the homepage of the festival (gosf.in) website failed to redirect to the intended page leaving many potential shoppers frustrated.

At the time of posting this report, the URL www.gosf.in displayed a blank page with the text "gosflive.osscube.com Hello World © 2013," while the actual content was available at gosflive.osscube.com.

The error appears to be as a result of a botched URL forwarding with masking that the site administrators seem to be taking too long to fix.

According the admin page of the GOSF website, the website has been designed and developed by Group FMG who have an India office in Chennai.

In an apology tweet, @googleindia said, "We're so sorry for the delay in the #GOSF launch. The site will be up soon and you can shop through the deals being offered until 13th Dec."

Google says over 200 companies are participating in the second GSOF and claims to offer the best deals to customers across India for 72 hours beginning December 11.
