BARGARH: Residents of Gopapur gave a tearful adieu to Lord Krishna, Balaram and their sakas (cohorts) who left for Mathura, accompanied by Akrura, to participate in Dhanu Yatra on Saturday. Yashoda pleaded with Akrura to take care of the children. Enactment of the scene was moving as women rolled on the ground crying in a bid to stop little Krishna from leaving. Back at Mathura, Kansa tours his kingdom atop his caparisoned elephant along with his ministers venting out his frustration. He destroys hermits’ huts at Govindpalli for their devotion to Lord Krishna. He also slaps fine on residents of Mathura and loses his cool after being informed about Krishna’s willingness to participate in Dhanu Yatra. Later, he visited his ‘Durbar’ at Rang Mahal to enjoy folk dances.
