BANGALORE: JD(S) state president and former CM H D Kumaraswamy issued contradictory statements on Sunday on his meeting with CID DGP Shankar Bidari on Saturday. While speaking to media persons at Bangalore on Sunday, Kumaraswamy strongly denied having met Bidari while terming media reports on their meeting as completely imaginary. He went a step ahead to advise reporters to maintain journalistic ethics.Media reports on my meeting with Bidari are imaginary. When my family has not done anything wrong, what is the need for me to meet anybody seeking favour as alleged by media reports, Kumaraswamy said while claiming that his family was capable of fighting charges against it legally. He said that being a member of parliament he has the right to meet any officer. But just hours after at Maddur, Kumaraswamy mane a complete U-turn and accepted that he met Bidari as he wanted to give some clarifications in connection with Upper Krishna Project (UKP) case which is being probed by the CID. There is no need to give importance to my meeting with Bidari, he told media persons while training his guns against Congress for objecting to his meeting.Kumaraswamy accused Congress leaders of keeping the UKP issue alive despite several investigating agencies and joint house committee said that no irregularities were taken place in awarding works of the project. They (Congress) have government in the Centre. Now, KPCC President G Parameshwar has taken a strong objection to Kumaraswamy and Bidari meeting and demanded the state to transfer Bidari from his current posting. We are not opposed to Kumaraswamy meeting any officer, but we are opposed to the manner in which this meeting took place. Kumaraswamy could have met Bidari in his office, he demanded.
