BANGALORE: State BJP chief K S Eshwarappa differed from the charges hurled by the Opposition on the issue.“Lokayukta has only said that his phones are being tapped, but he has not specifically pointed fingers at anybody. In such a situation it [phone tapping] could be attributed to anybody, even on AICC general secretary B K Hariprasad who has been after the Lokayukta for several days,” he said.On the alleged indictment of the chief minister and a few of his Cabinet colleagues in the illegal mining issue, the BJP chief said that the party would take a call on whether or not to act against the CM once the Lokayukta formally submits his report to the Government.Leak Does Not Affect Sanctity of Report: SidduMysore: On Thursday, Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah said that they should not continue in power as the ministers have been indicted in the Lokayukta report, which was leaked to the media a day ago. “The leak does not imply that the report has lost its value or sanctity,” he averred. He, however, refused to react further on the report as it was not officially submitted to the government.“Yeddyurappa and his colleagues, who had taken an oath to protect the natural resources of the state, have failed to do so,” he addressed the media at his residence here.He alleged that officials in Bellary had to bow to the diktats of the Reddy brothers, resulting in plunder of the natural resources there.“The government must initiate action against such officials as well,” he said, adding that the Congress will launch a legal battle and a public campaign if the government fails to do so.
