Chennai: Southern actress Swati Reddy, who is paired with Nikhil Siddharth for the second time for director Chandu Mondenti's film, says a hit pair may or may not work because the fate of a film depends on its content.
Swati and Nikhil were last seen together in highly successful Telugu crime-comedy 'Swamy Ra Ra'. And now they will feature in Mondenti's untitled upcoming Telugu thriller comedy.
"Honestly, I seriously don't know if something called a hit pair will guarantee success. It might work for few films, but I believe the success of any film finally rests on its content and not on its lead actors. I agreed to work with Nikhil again because I found the script of the new film interesting," Swati told IANS.
"I have known director Chandu for a long time now. He used to visit us on the sets of 'Swamy Ra Ra' and saw us working. Initially, I thought he was joking about casting me in his project, but when I realised he's serious, I agreed to work with him," Swati said.
Unconventional ideas excite Swati.
"I'm always pumped up about doing something 'hatke', and that's precisely why I couldn't resist working again with Nikhil. Moreover, since Nikhil and I share a great chemistry as actors on the screen, I thought it would make sense to work together," she added.
The actress is currently working in Tamil comedy 'Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara' and says she is having a ball on the sets.
"It's one of those films where I didn't have to pull my hair out for everything. I'm thoroughly enjoying working with the team, in which everybody minds their own business. I will also finally get to portray the Swati in me for the Tamil audiences," said the actress also seen in Tamil films 'Subramaniapuram' and 'Poraali'.
