The family of Tapan Lohar, a resident of Jambediya village in Simlapal town, Bankura, West Bengal are in a state of panic after successive fires broke out in his house. Even after the preliminary investigation by the police of Simlapal police station, the block administration, the workers of the power department and the members of Vigyan Manch, the reason for the fires is not yet known. This bizarre incident is now one of the topics of discussion among the locals of Jambediya village.
According to Tapan Lohar’s family, the first fire broke out on the balcony of the house around 4 pm last Sunday, July 28. The fire was brought under control with the help of neighbours. Since then, almost every day, various combustible materials suddenly catch fire in the house. By Tuesday evening, the house caught fire again. Khatra Fire Station was contacted to extinguish the fire. Safety crews were at Tapan Lohar’s home overnight Tuesday. The cops from Simlapal police station were also present at the accident location.
The next fire broke around 6 am on Wednesday, a fire broke out in the cowshed of the house. Firefighters immediately extinguished the fire. According to the fire department, the cause of the fire is not known. The Lohar family members of Bankura are spending their days in fear due to successive fire incidents. BDO Manas Chakraborty of Simlapal went to the house on Wednesday morning. He tried to inquire about the incident and consoled the residents to not live in fear.
Later, the police contacted Vigyan Manch. On Wednesday afternoon, the members of Vigyan Manch visited the house of the person in Jambediya village and the surrounding areas. They couldn’t find the exact reason for the sudden fire outbreak. Efforts are underway to investigate and resolve it quickly.
