HYDERABAD: The next time you’re nursing a glass of Jura or Laphroaig whiskey, or chugging down a pint of beer, just stop for a moment and think of what it would be like to have these spirits in - wait for it - your bath and body products. Taking the term luxury to the next level, Saint Pure, a Delhi-based brand, houses over 400 products, a significant chunk of which use wine, whiskey and beer as core ingredients.Elvera Kapoor Mehra, the founder of a year-old Saint Pure, tells us that she was inspired to start her own company when she realised India had a serious dearth of quality skincare products.  “I had to import my own skincare products, and so I came up with the idea of having one place which would house the finest brands from around the world, so we could have access to the best,” she says. Beer for your hair Saint Pure sources its range of bath and body products from luxury brands like Spirited Soaps Scotland, Manufaktura Home Spa and their in-house Saint Pure Spa. And Mehra confirms the age-old myth that beer actually does wonders for your hair, adding, “It has vitamin B and wheat extracts, which add volume and shine to your hair, and works very well for the face as well.” And whiskey? “It is a spirit and essentially a healer,” explains Mehra. “We use the finest of single malt whiskeys, like Laphroaig. It tightens your skin, makes it glow and has anti-aging properties. Even the whiskey shampoo works well, and along with a beer conditioner, adds lustre,” she advises. Exotic offerings “Wine products have anti-aging properties, because of grape seed extracts, and help reduce skin damage,” she explains. Saint Pure also has exotic products, like the Dead Sea mud soap, or Belgian chocolate scrub, besides Arabian sandalwood body powder and Scottish shortbread spa oil candles.
