At its keynote at Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Intel announced that it is planning on releasing new 9th-Generation processors ranging from the Core i3 to the Core i9. While the company didn't share any models or specifications, the official press release mentioned the new Core i5-9400.
Notably, the company’s official website now lists more models including the Core i9-9900KF, Core i7-9700KF, Core i5-9600KF, Core i5-9400F, and Core i3-9350KF. Last year we saw the release of three 9th-Gen desktop Core CPUs for gamers and mainstream users, which included the i9-9900K, Core i7-9700K and the Core i5-9600K.
The new additional models should reach markets soon. Packing the same 14nm process with the Coffee Lake microarchitecture, some of the models lack integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 iGPU and are denoted by an "F" suffix on the product name. There is no pricing for the new models as of yet.
Intel's newest listings do not include pricing, so we'll have to wait until the products come to retail to learn if there is a price reduction associated with the removal of the integrated graphics units. Aside from the deactivated (or removed) graphics units, the Core i9-990KF, i9-9700KF, and i5-9600KF all feature the same core counts, threads, base and boost frequencies, TDPs, and cache allocations of the existing "non-F" models.
The new Core i5-9400 processor features six cores and threads running at 2.9 GHz base frequency that can go up to 4.1 GHz on a single core. It comes with integrated UHD Graphics 630, a 65W TDP, and is the only locked processor, so it cannot be overclocked.
The Core i3-9350K comes with four cores and threads. This processor runs at a 4.0 GHz base clock rate and 4.6 GHz boost speeds on a single core. As mentioned above there is no integrated graphics chip and supports lower DDR4-2400 with a relatively high 91W TDP.
The Core i3-8100F sits at the bottom with four cores and threads, a static 3.6 GHz frequency, and 6MB of L3 cache.
