New Delhi: Despite the ongoing income tax raids on the IPL and its various offices and franchisees, commissioner Lalit Modi on Friday said he and the League "will come out of it as we have nothing to hide".
In an exclusive interview with CNN-IBN from Dharamsala, Modi said, "It is our job to expose people who are hiding the facts. It is not only about Sunanda Pushkar, there are other people too. But we are being asked why we want to ask questions."
"We have a track record as proof, so if one person comes and makes allegations, it doesn't mean the world will go around," Modi said when asked about the allegations levelled against him by Shashi Tharoor.
"The sponsors are happy, the viewers are happy. All of a sudden this man is goin out and making charges."
Asked about the income tax raids, which Modi has preferred to call as an enquiry, he said: "The I-T wanted to know the truth and they have got the truth."
The IPL chief reiterated that Tharoor had called him and asked him not to ask questions about the ownership of the IPL Kochi team.
"Shashi Tharoor did ask me, he did call me. I got it in the public domain because people have a right to know."
