J&K Govt orders fire safety audit in hospitals
Minister of State for Home asked the Fire and Emergency Services to complete the exercise and submit a detailed report by December 20.

Jammu: In the wake of the devastating fire in a private multi-speciality hospital in Kolkata, the Jammu and Kashmir government on Friday ordered audit of fire and emergency services in all the government hospitals and private nursing homes in the state.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services has been instructed to immediately carry out fire safety audit in all government and associated hospitals and private nursing homes to ensure their preparedness for emergencies.

Minister of State for Home Nasir Aslam Wani asked the Fire and Emergency Services to complete the exercise and submit a detailed report by December 20.

The administration of all government and associated hospitals and nursing homes have been ordered to equip their health institutions with the required firefighting equipment to avoid any untoward incident.
