KOZHIKODE: The special investigation team headed by Assistant Commissioner Jossy Cherian has arrested one youth in connection with the death of Shaheed Bava of Kodiyathoor, who was brutally manhandled by locals allegedly objecting to an ‘illicit relationship’. The police on Wednesday released lookout notices for six persons involved in the attack.According to the police, auto driver Nazar, 28, a resident of Kodiyathoor, was arrested on Wednesday for dropping Shaheed near the house of the lady in Kodiyathoor, with whom Shaheed had an illicit relationship, in a pre-planned move. “Nazar informed the others in the group about the arrival of Shaheed in the area and the gang came and manhandled him brutally,” said Assistant Commissioner Jossy Cherian.Police released lookout notices for Majid, Fayaz, Abdul Kareem, Mohammed Salim, Irshad and Rashid, all natives of Kodiyathoor and are absconding. Earlier, the police had arrested Abdu Rahman of Kodiyathoor in connection with the case and had brought the two arrested persons to the area as part of investigation on Wednesday.“A clash had happened on October 22 between Shaheed and some local residents in the area who questioned his immoral connection. Shaheed and his relatives allegedly manhandled them. This created vengeance among the local people and they hatched a plan to attack him with the help of Nazar, said Jossy Cherian. The police released the lookout notice as there are chances that the convicted would escape to abroad.
