THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Uncertainty continued to prevail over the power situation on Friday with the state receiving 400 MW less from the central pool.Half-hour load-shedding continued on Friday evening also with no solution in sight.An urgent meeting of the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) held here decided to step up generation from thehydel stations.“We had been receiving 950 MW daily from the central generating stations.Now there was a shortage of 500 MW.Supply from the Talcher and the Ramagundam stations have also fallen drastically,” a KSEB spokesperson said.Minister of State for Power K C Venugopal, talking to reporters in New Delhi on Friday, assured 150 MW more for the state by Saturday.But KSEB officials were non-committal as to whether the load-sheddings would be called off on Saturday.On the consumption end too, the KSEB was taking a beating.On Thursday, the total consumption in the state stood at 54.55 Million Units (MU), with a shortage of 3.15 MU.And on Wednesday, the total consumption was 54.19 MU.
