BANGALORE: The Lokayukta police on Friday opened a First Information Report (FIR) against Home Minister R Ashok and four others, including former Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa on land-grab charges.The Lokayukta police booked a case against Ashok, Yeddyurappa and others as the Lokayukta court on Thursday referred the case to them for investigation under Section 156 (3) of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), Lokayukta public prosecutor Pramod Chandra told Express.Three people, including two landlords, are also named in the FIR on charges of being involved in illegal denotification of government land in Lottegollahalli in Bangalore.Lokayukta special court judge N K Sudheendra Rao had directed Lokayukta SP to investigate the matter and submit a report on the alleged illegal denotification of government land on November 5. The case was filed by one Jayakumar Hiremath accusing Ashok of being involved in illegal denotification of BDA land in Lottegollahalli when Yeddyurappa was CM, causing a Rs 50-crore loss to the state exchequer.
