CHENNAI: The city police arrested a lawyer for selling land using forged documents at Velachery on Friday. Police said, lawyer Chandrasekaran along with his brother Sambasivam sold a 2400 square feet plot at Velachery to one Shankar of Pozhichalur in 1995.When Shankar got an encumbrance certificate for the land when he found that the land belonged to another person. A complaint was lodged with the police, who then arrested Chandrasekaran for land grabbing. Police said they found that he had forged documents with the help of his brother and sold the land.Teacher held for land sale with fake docs A 60-year-old retired teacher from Tirunelveli district was arrested for making fake documents and selling land worth Rs 100 crore at Aynavaram on Friday.Police said Jayanthi Kannappan of Gopalapuram, lodged a complaint when she had found that her property at Aynavaram was sold to another person.
