Bangalore: Champions Tennis League on Tuesday announced that Indian tennis professional, World No. 29 (Doubles) Leander Paes would now be completing team Punjab Marshalls in CTL 2014.
Among the most successful professional Indian tennis players and former captain of the Indian Davis Cup team, Leander is the recipient of India's highest sporting honour, the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award, in 1996-1997; the Arjuna Award in 1990; and the Padma Shri award in 2001 for his outstanding contribution to tennis in India.
Commenting on this development, Vijay Amritraj said, "I am truly delighted that our own Leader Paes will replace David Ferrer in CTL 2014 making a very strong Indian presence in the Punjab Marshalls team. Leander will be playing Men's doubles with Somdev and mixed doubles with Garbine Muguruza, which makes the Punjab Marshalls a very formidable force in the Northern Group."

On being part of Punjab Marshalls, Leander Paes said, "I am very happy to be a part of Vijay Amritraj's Champions Tennis League 2014 playing for the Punjab Marshalls.
