MYSORE: This revelation will surely make you scratch your head. Almost all houses in the village of Ramji Nagar are hi-tech. They were well-built with good architecture. These are the hi-tech homes of the accused in the Karnataka Bank robbery case. The accused have built these luxury houses in Ramji Nagar in Trichy district of Tamil Nadu.A team of 18 city police officials led by CCB Inspector Jayakumar and Devaraja Inspector Shanthamallappa, visited Ramji Nagar along with four accused-Rajanikanth, Balaji, Jayabalu and Armugam, who were arrested in connection with the robbery of the Karnataka Bank on Devaraj Urs Road.“After knowing the status of the accused in their native village, 10 km away from Trichy, the officials were shocked. Surprisingly, when the police team did not find even a single male member in the village with a population of 3,000 to 4,000. Whenever police teams visited Trichy for investigation and stayed in lodges, the room boys of lodges alert the accused about it, and helped them to stay away from the village.Mysore city police team too tasted the protectiveness of local people towards the accused, with their non-cooperation. The local police have maintained a register to record the investigating officers, who visited the village in connection with robbery cases. The records show that team of police from Maharashtra, Delhi, Jaipur and Haryana visited the village, all of them failing to arrest the culprits.Police officials from Mysore were the first to arrest the accused and send a message to concerned states to identify the accused. After this, a team of police officials from Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh visited Mysore and gathered information, sources confirmed.During the Mysore police visit to Ramji Nagar, they recovered Rs 35,000 from the house of accused Balaji, who was arrested in the Karnataka Bank robbery case. The police found out that his son is an engineering student.DCP Basavaraj Malagatti said that, “Our team visited Ramji Nagar and saw the luxurious life of the residents there.”
