THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The mass transfer of officials from the Agriculture Department is likely to have a negative impact on the implementation of various projects at the local bodies in the state.The agriculture projects will be delayed or will come to a standstill with the transfer of officials as they will take some time to adjust with the situation. Usually the general transfer would be held during the month of May, but this time 96 officials have been transferred during December.Association of Agriculture Officers Kerala has already come out against the decision of the government, which will hit the entire agriculture projects in the state.Following the allegation, agriculture secretary K R Jyothilal held discussions with the representatives of the employees in this regard.Association state president Ummer said that the officials were supposed to implement projects at the local bodies and a transfer at this time would spoil the entire exercise. This was brought into the notice of the agriculture secretary by the employees.“There are allegations that those who joined the Department recently, have been given posting to their own districts, whereas the seniors, waiting to move to the nearest place of their district, were ignored.
