BANGALORE: Even as MG Road reportedly felt the first tremor in the city and employees abandoned their belongings and evacuated buildings, the Metro trains continued operations.Rumours of Metro shutting down operations spread fast and the news channels reported it too. Many people working around the area, tweeted it. The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) released a statement claiming that their operations went on smoothly. “Our services have not been affected in anyway by the tremors. The TV report is erroneous,” said N Sivasailam, MD of BMRCL.Around 3 pm, news of the Ulsoor and Indiranagar Metro stations being shut down for the rest of the day came to light. “We did not stop any operations through the day. There is no major damage to any of the Metro properties. We, however, have put all stations and installations on a state of high alert,” the BMRCL spokesperson said.
