HYDERABAD: Making it clear that it would not be possible to take opinion of half of the Hyderabad population with regard to laying metro rail in the city, the High Court on Tuesday directed the Greenlands, Ameerpet, Madhuranagar, Yousufguda, Krishnanagar Joint Action Committee and 20 other individuals to suggest how 'public participation' in the project could be achieved."Follow-up measures will be possible after hearing from you. You can take experts' opinion on the project. There were problems even with regard to laying a bus corridor in Delhi and people are now seeing the results after overcoming the shortcomings," it told the writ petitioners who faulted the process.A division bench comprising chief justice Madan B Lokur and justice PV Sanjay Kumar said there would be problems at the initial stages of any project but there would be results after overcoming them.It advised both the parties to have a conference to sort out their differences and see if an amicable solution can be worked out, and adjourned the case to next week. The bench was scheduled to hear the writ appeal filed by the Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited, the state-owned public enterprise, questioning the order of a single judge who had faulted the process and stayed laying metro rail between Greenlands and Shilparamam. An audio- visual presentation was made before it, explaining the project works.
