Motorola prepares to close Zumo Drive
Motorola's cloud storage service, Zumo Drive, will not be available to users from June 1 this year.

New Delhi: Motorola will shut down it cloud based storage for mobile devices, which is known as the Zumo Drive. This decision has been taken by the company as it will soon be starting a new cloud based service for Motorola branded devices, called the MotoCast.

MotoCast will provide seamless, instant access to user's computer's content from their smartphones, tablet or even another computer safely and securely. Users can stream their own music, videos, photos and files without the burden and cost of uploading to a public cloud.

As part of this transition to MotoCast, Motorola will be shutting down Zumo Drive. After June 1, Zumo Drive users will no longer be able to use the service. Any content remaining in your Zumo Drive account beyond that date will be securely deleted along with all account records.

Zumo Drive is one of the popular cloud based storage service that has been available to the users of Android, iOS, Palm, Windows and Linux based operating systems. Zumo Drive offers 2 GB of free cloud storage to users allowing them to store and share content on their registered devices as well as with other users.

Since the transition is in effect, the company has sent out mailers to all the users notifying them about the timelines as to till when they can access and take a backup of all the data that has been lying on the Zumo Drive servers.

All users can visit http://www.mymotocast.com to download the application for their respective devices for their multimedia content sharing and streaming over multiple devices. In India, this service is presently available to the users of Moto Razr device owners only but in future we can expect the service to be made available to more devices as well.
