VISAKHAPATNAM:Passengers of the Secunderabad- Bhubaneswar Visakha Express had a lucky escape as one bogie of the train jumped the track at Gopalapatnam near here on Thursday.However, no one was injured in the incident.According to sources, while the train was approaching Visakhapatnam railway station at a low speed at 7 a.m., some passengers of S-14 coach heard a thud and immediately pulled the chain.As the train stopped at Gopalapatnam cabin, railway officials along with technical team rushed to the spot.They found that four wheels of the bogie had jumped off the track. The tracks were repaired and the train continued its onward journey at 12.10 p.m. Following the incident, several trains have been rescheduled.According to sources, Garib Rath Express, Kakinada and Vijayawada bound trains were stopped at outer signals for few hours following the derailment. Dhanbad- Allepey, Howrah-Yeshwantpur and some other trains ran behind schedule.Top railway officials including divisional railway manager N Kasinath and additional divisional railway manager C Madhusudhana Rao rushed to the spot and supervised the track restoration work. The cause for derailment is yet to be ascertained.
