An employee of land revenue department in Bihar's Nawada district was arrested on Friday on the charge of corruption, police sources said. Dinesh Kumar Singh, an employee of Warisaliganj Revenue department, was arrested on the charge of demanding Rs 1,500 bribe from a person for completing the work of land mutation in his name.
Dharmendra Kumar, a resident of Lilabigaha village had lodged a complaint against the employee in the janata darbar of Nawada district magistrate that Singh has asked him to pay Rs 1,500 as bribe for the purpose of land mutation. The DM had instructed the circle officer to file an FIR against the employee.
On the basis of FIR, police Sub-inspector Umesh Goswami raided the office and nabbed the employee. The employee has been sent to judicial custody, Goswami added.
