New Delhi; The West Bengal government on Thursday ruled out a CBI investigation into the Lalgarh Massacre case.
The government filed an affidavit, in which it stated its position on a plea for a CBI probe into the killing of seven persons on January 7 in Lalgarh.
West Bengal government also ruled out the use of Central Forces in dismantling armed camps in Lalgarh if any.
The West Bengal Government pleaded before the court to hold the question of compensation to victims till investigations are over.
The Principal Secretary (Home), G D Gautama, went to the Oath Commissioner to sign the documents.
The affidavit would be placed before the court of Chief Justice J N Patel and Justice A K Roy tomorrow morning when the PIL, filed by the Calcutta High Court Bar Association, would be taken up for hearing.
The division bench had directed the West Bengal government to explain its position on the pleas for a CBI probe on the existence of armed camps and steps to dismantle them besides the plea for interim compensation to the kin of the dead and injured.
The matter would come up for hearing on Friday.
