HYDERABAD: There is no possibility of increasing the upper age limit for recruitment to Group-I, Group-II and police SI posts for which notifications have already been issued or in the process of being issued, minister for revenue N Raghuveera Reddy has said.Job aspirants have been demanding that the upper age limit be increased from the present 34 years (general category) to 39 years for both Group-I and Group-II services, and from 25 to 28 years (general category) for SI posts. At the time of issuance of recruitment notifications in 2008, the then chief minister, YS Rajasekhara Reddy, had increased the age limit to 39 years as one-time concession for Group-I and Group-II services but rejected the demand for increasing the age limit for SI posts. The APPSC has issued a notification recently for recruiting 304 Group-I posts, fixing the upper age limit at 34 years. The minister made it clear that there was no possibility of increasing the age limit for the present phase of recruitments.
