'Kohli's Coming!': Barmy Army Draws Wrath Of Rohit Sharma Fans With Post Featuring Virat Kohli
Rohit Sharma’s fans did not take the post too well as they argued that the team’s current skipper should feature in the posters instead of Virat Kohli.

England cricket team’s official fan group Barmy Army has left Rohit Sharma’s fans fuming. The fan page recently shared a poster of Virat Kohli while announcing India’s upcoming Test series against England in the summer of 2025.

Referring to the talismanic Indian batter, the page wrote, “Kohli’s Coming! England vs India. Summer 2025. Five Tests. What more could you want?" The post did not go down well with Rohit’s fans who argued that the team’s current skipper should feature in the posters instead of Kohli. This led to a fan war in the comments section.

Whereas, another social media user highlighted Virat Kohli’s influence on the sport and said, “The fact that Fox Cricket, Sky Sports and now Barmy Army using Virat Kohli’s name to promote the series. Kohli is the true face of cricket."

This fan claimed that Rohit Sharma should be getting all the hype as he is the current captain of the Indian team. “This is captain Rohit era, please stop sneaking in Kohli everywhere," read the comment.

One X (formerly Twitter) user agreed and wrote, “They’re selling tickets in the name of Kohli! The face of world cricket!"

Earlier this week Fox Cricket shared a preview video for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Series on YouTube and it resulted in a similar backlash from fans. The discussions in that clip largely pertained to former Indian skipper Virat Kohli and it potentially being his last appearance in Australia. This led to Rohit Sharma fans calling out the media house for omitting the current Indian skipper from the conversation.

While the fan war between Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli’s supporters rages on, the two cricketers continue to share an inseparable bond on the cricket pitch. The duo have often given fans several wholesome moments which perfectly summarise their camaraderie.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are currently representing India in the ongoing three-match Test series against England. The star Indian duo will next feature in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in November, which India will be looking to retain once again.
