THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Techie mothers can now caress their infants at their work place, just like toddlers having their lullaby from their less burdened mothers.Infopark Kochi has decided to construct a daycare centre on the campus following a survey among the techies.As the majority of the techies are young, they were finding it hard to look after their children and the facility is all set to be a boon.It was on the basis of the hardships faced by the mothers that a survey was conducted among the employees on the need to establish a day-care/creche on the campus.The IT professional mothers need not worry about their infants, as they will be at the nearby building where they work.Infopark Kochi chief executive officer Gigo Joseph said the employees were keen on a day-care facility with international standards.“There are several mothers who are not able to breastfeed their babies while at work.The facility will come on the Infopark campus which enables the mothers to visit their kids during break time.“The 3,600 square feet centre will have facilities of international standards to take care of their little ones,’’ he said.Though several day-care centres came up in an around Infopark, the employees were not satisfied with the facilities.They are ready to pay more to agencies who are able to provide good infrastructure for nurturing their children.The facility will be for kids between one and three years.Separate facilities will be included for various age groups of kids, as the needs of different ages vary.The estimated cost of the building is `50 lakh which will be completed in six months.The sketch of the building in an attractive frame has been completed.
