No merger with AINRC: Narayanasamy

PUDUCHERRY: Union minister of state for PMO Narayansamy has ruled out the possibility of the merger of AINRC with the Congress.Asked at the press conference on Monday about a senior leader’s speech on the lines of possible AINRC merger with Congress during election campaign, he said when that party (AINRC) chief met Congress chairperson Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi, he did not discuss the merger.The Minister said Chief Minister had in election campaigns urged the party cadre to ensure that the Congress lost deposit in the Indira Nagar by-election.He also pointed to the address by the AINRC party general secretary that a government under the BJP would come at the Centre.Narayanasamy said that considering such statements and actions of AINRC leaders, there was no possibility of NR Congress merging with the Congress for the time being.
