North India continues to freeze under cold wave
Delhi is marginally colder than Thursday, with mercury dipping to 5.4 degrees Celsius.

New Delhi: North India continues to battle the bitter cold wave, waking up to another frosty morning on Friday.

Delhi is marginally colder than Thursday, with mercury dipping to 5.4 degrees Celsius. Fortunately children have been spared the cold with schools shut till Monday. Delhiites however saw respite from fog. But the MeT department has told that they expect the fog to return on Sunday.

Cold wave conditions have intensified across Punjab and Haryana. Chandigarh recorded a low of 5.7 degrees. Amritsar is at 5 degrees and Ludhiana is the coldest at 3 degrees.

Rajasthan's capital Jaipur also continues to freeze, with temperature dipping further by 3 degrees. This is Rajasthan's coldest winter in the last five years. Schools will remain closed till Saturday in Rajasthan too.

The cold intensified in trans-Ganga region of Uttar Pradesh as well. Lucknow has become one degree colder than Thursday at 7 degrees. Schools remain closed on Friday as well.
