One held for forest guards murder

BARGARH: The police on Thursday arrested one Keshav Barik of Dhaulibahal village in connection with the murder of a forest guard, Narayan Duan at Jaipur village in Padampur block. Duan was allegedly shot dead by Maoists on September 18. Reports said the Forest Department officials had swooped down on Dhaulibahal village, a couple of months back and seized huge quantity of timber. Suspecting Duan behind leaking information to the police, Barik allegedly held a meeting with Maoists on September 16 in the village. Two days later Duan’s bullet-riddled body was found on the outskirts of Jaipur village.
