HYDERABAD: As the Sakala Janula Samme enters the ninth day on Wednesday, repercussions of the strike are being felt in the Telangana districts. While residents of other parts of the state were feeling its tremors due to RTC strike and other disruptions to services, those in Telangana were having a tough time. Parents of school students seemed to be the unhappy lot over the frequent disruptions to the academic year of their children as educational institutions were becoming the first targets of T activists.
Many parents though welcome the agitations as they feel it would pave way for a better future for their children, they are opposed to inclusion of schools in the T movement. A few, however, want Telangana leaders to fight with the Centre for separate state instead of causing trouble to their own people in the region.

Ch Chinnaiah, a farmer and parent of a class X student from Hasnapur village in Tamsi mandal of Adilabad district, said closure of schools is causing a lot of inconvenience for children. He felt that college students were old enough to understand the importance of T movement and participate in it, but schoolchildren have a very little role to play.

"Our leaders are causing problem for our own people instead of building pressure on the Centre for a separate state," she said.

Some parents want T leaders to exempt children of higher classes from participating in the strike.

Agreeing with him is G Archana, a housewife and parent of a class I student in Karimnagar.
