Dholpur: In a rather strange case in Dholpur the daughter of police head constable Roop Singh, who is posted in Delhi, married a dreaded dacoit of the Chambal ravines. The girl Mona married Shiv Dutt, a dacoit who carried a huge reward on his head.

Shivdutt, accused in 15 cases, was brought for the marriage on parole for a day. He and Mona got married at Rajakheda village of Dholpur district of Rajasthan. After marrying Mona, Shivdutt went to the prison promising to never indulge in any wrongdoing.

Head Constable Roop Singh's family lives in the Chambal area of Rajakheda. Mona was harassed by a gang of dacoits following which Roop Singh sought help from Shivdutt's gang. While the gang that was harqassing Mona stopped doing so, Shivdutt and Mona fell in love.

Though Roop Singh and other family members were against Mona's choice, but after some time they agreed for the marriage. Since Shivdutt was jailed in Sevar so a parole was demanded for solemnising the marriage. The court gave one day to Shivdutt because he had jumped the parole on an earlier occasion.

According to the Rajakheda police station in-charge Tara Chand after the court's order Shivdutt was let off on parole for his marriage under police security. Since Shivdutt was a dreaded dacoit of the area, so security was very tight at the marriage venue. The policemen were worried about Shivdutt absconding during the marriage. So the security was very tight. Earlier he had jumping parole again.

But this time Shivdutt was not ready to let go of his lady love and be discredited in front of her family by running away. After his marriage he quietly went to prison, where he is lodged on the charges of helping a dacoit flee from police custody, with a promise to reform himself.
