Darbhanga: A huge tent which was made for a public meeting to be addressed by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath came down on Thursday after heavy rains lashed the city.
Bhartiya Janata Party’s local MLA Sanjay Sarawgi, who is leading a team of workers to clean the area said the tent was prepared due to the rise in mercury level. However, enthusiastic party workers are working hard to clean the area. As the weather condition are getting better rally will take place as per schedule.
Yogi’s visit to Bihar is supposed to energise the rank and files of Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) who is trying to gain grounds in the state after losing the last assembly election to the Mahagathbandhan led by Janata Dal (United).
BJP state management believes that the party’s landmark victory in Uttar Pradesh had a positive impact on Bihar and Adityanath's presence will add on as an influence.
The party had carefully chosen Darbhanga for Uttar Pradesh chief minister’s public meeting as traditionally it has been the stronghold of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) who is in coalition with the JD(U).
But the ruling alliance had accused the BJP of trying to break the social harmony in the state by inviting Yogi Adityanath.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was also in Darbhanga on Wednesday and hoped that the UP CM will not talk of riots and focus on development.
