Draupadi in the Mahabharatha was said to be in possession of the Akshaya Patram. It was a special vessel and a divine gift. In that vessel, even if there was a particle of food left, the food would fill it to the brim. There was a magical tree called the Kalpaka Vriksha, Kalpa Taru or Kalpa Druma and a wish-yielding cow called the Kamadhenu, that would give whatever one asked for.Well, these are all symbolic of the miracle of one’s own mind. Your mind is like a thin screen of consciousness, formed by particles of energy thrown by the cells, predominantly felt in the brain. There was a woman I met recently, whose cheques have been delayed for a couple of months now. A mother of two, the responsibility of providing for her teenage children rests squarely on her shoulders. There is help at hand of course, but it is not so easy to ask for help. A super mom, who knows the secrets of the mind, she was aware of her thinning purse and bank balance. Having spent about `50,000 on the admission fees for school and college, the woman seemed to have other major expenses thrown at her unexpectedly – borewell digging work that was commonly shared by other owners of the apartment she lives in and her bike that was serviced. She could collect it only on payment of `4,000.Having decided to pay off as many debts as possible, she had just given a cheque for about `11,000. There was `2,654 left in her account. She didn’t dare go anywhere near the ATM, lest she had to meet reality eye to eye!She took up this bad financial situation as Project Count for 21 days, daily she recorded the progress on a computer. Each day as she focused on what needed to be done, she was getting stronger and more successful. There were moments of anxious tears when fear blinded her vision of the actual abundance which she knew was her birthright. Yet she strived – meditated with fingers held in special gestures, chanted powerful words that touched her sub-conscious directly, blessing money, as she knew that it was generations of a wrong and degrading attitude towards money which had brought this to pass. Each time she passed the mirror at home, she did not forget to smile and tell herself an, “I love you so…much!”She decided to take it on a daily basis. “Now what needs to be done? I have to pay `4,000 by this evening and get my bike.” She focused on this alone, went to the ATM withdrew `2,500 (leaving just `164 balance) added a `1,000 she had in her purse, borrowed `1,000 from her family and got back the bike! Riding the smoothly serviced vehicle back home, she smiles within, knowing that this small success will make her achieve anything she wants!
