BHUBANESWAR: In what appears to be an outcome of an internal squabble among staffers of a private bank, gold estimated at Rs 10 lakh was allegedly looted by one group near Unit-VIII area here on Monday. The gold, weighing about 350 gram, was to be handed over to a customer who had taken a loan against the yellow metal. Police sources said, a bank employee carrying the gold alleged that it was snatched by a fellow worker. The bank manager was unwilling to lodge a formal complaint since it is against the norms to return gold to customers, who have paid back loans, outside the bank. Nayapalli Police were intimated of the incident. A bank employee has been quizzed in this regard. Till reports last came in, a formal complaint is yet to be registered.
