KOCHI: The Kerala High Court has appointed Advocate S Sreekumar to assist the court in the contempt of court proceedings initiated against CPM leader M V Jayarajan.
He was appointed by a Division Bench comprising Justice V Ramkumar and Justice P Q Barkath Ali. Earlier, the AdvocateGeneral and the Director General of Prosecution (DGP) had declined to appear for the prosecution in the trial.

Sreekumar was selected from a list of three advocates submitted by AG K P Dandapani on Thursday. Advocates Anil Kumar and P M A Kalam were the other two names in the list.
