Mumbai: Director Sajid Khan, who is going to remake the Jeetendra-Sridevi hit 'Himmatwala', says he would present the movie with a different take. "I am making 'Himmatwala' again. In 2013, the film will complete 30 years. Forget about today's generation, even two generations-old would not know about this film. It is not a classic film like 'Mughal-E-Azam', 'Sholay', 'Deewar', but was
blockbuster movie," Sajid told PTI in an interview.
"My take on Himmatwala is different. There will be some elements from the old movie. The film is re-written and not a remake. For two months I have been re-writing it... first time someone would have spent so much time on re-writing a remake.
I have grown up watching this film...have seen it 36 times," Sajid said.
"We have finalised Ajay Devgn for the lead role. But haven't decided the heroine," he added.
The actor-director says the 1983 film coined several phrases and words like 'PT dance'.
The songs were popular and so was the dancing of jumping jack - Jeetendra. But Ajay is not known for his dancing skills and Sajid says, "Ajay will not be dancing. I know what I am making... I am making a proper entertainment film with lots of action."
Reportedly, Sajid might even rope in Sridevi and Jeetendra for the remake, albeit not in the lead.
