BANGALORE: Though the academic year has already begun, the tall claim of the Bruhat Bengaluru0 Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) launching the Satellitebased Advanced Multimedia Education (SAME) in 33 BBMP schools in the city remains only a claim.
The project has not been started as promised. However, BBMP officials still agree that this innovative methodology is the need of the hour and it will be taken forward. The proposal, they say, will be placed in the upcoming budget session. The live demo of the SAME started with live interactive coaching at the BBMP's IPP Centre at Vyalikaval with select students at the centre and simultaneously at Corporation Girls High School, Jogupalya and Corporation Boys High School in Ganganagar on February 17, 2011 by B V Ganesh, the then chairman of BBMP's standing committee on education and sports.

When contacted Ganesh said, "This innovative technology is necessary, and we have to keep up with the times. If we don't introduce new methods of teaching students and parents will not trust us."

Raju said from this programme, children will learn better as this technology helps lessons stay in students' mind for longer period of time and is influential.
