Kolkata: Dissident Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha MP Kunal Ghosh on Thursday threatened to reveal names of nine persons, who were benefited from Sudipta Sen, if the Saradha Group Chairman failed to disclose their names to the police.
"Sen's letter to the CBI was a deep-rooted conspiracy with many inconsistencies. I shall request Sen to reveal those names who benefited from him either directly or indirectly,"
Mr Ghosh told reporters after his six-hour interrogation at the Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate in Kolkata on Thursday.
Bidhannagar Police Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said that since Mr Ghosh was the Group CEO, he used to handle many files concerning many issues.
"That's why, my officers are taking time to extract information during interrogation," Mr Kumar said.
Mr Kumar, who visited the state secretariat to attend a high-level meeting convened by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, avoided a question if there was any possibility of Mr Ghosh being arrested.
Chief Secretary Sanjay Mitra, Director General of Police GMP Rajasekhar Reddy and Kolkata Police Commissioner Surajit Kar Purakayastha were also present at the meeting.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Detective Department), Arnab Ghosh also declined to divulge details about the questioning.
Mr Ghosh, the former head of Saradha's media arm, had earlier said he would be available whenever required by Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate, which is inquiring into the scam.
Mr Ghosh was suspended from the party on September 28 for anti-party activities.
Saradha group Chairman Sudipta Sen was arrested, along with two of his close aides from Sonmarg in Jammu and Kashmir in April this year.
