KOTTAYAM: The government has decided to constitute a Special Investigation Team to look into the revelations made by CPM Idukki district secretary M M Mani regarding the murders of political rivals, Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan said here on Monday. The SIT would conduct a comprehensive inquiry, given the serious nature of Mani’s speech. The SIT will investigate the revelations and the murders mentioned by Mani. However, he did not disclose the names of the team members of SIT, citing administrative reasons.“Mani has made the confession after many years and the government has been compelled to register a case against him. The circumstances of his revelations are significant. Nobody persuaded him to do it. He did it in a political meeting convened to explain the CPM’s stance on the T P Chandrasekharan murder,” said Thiruvanchoor.
