Snapshot: Heavy rain in coastal and hill districts of Karnataka

Bangalore: Heavy rain continues to batter coastal and Malnad (hill districts) region of Karnataka. The rain has not taken a break after it intensified in the first week of July. Almost all rivers are flowing above danger mark and reservoirs are full. Heavy rain has caused a huge damage to standing crops in some parts. Schools and colleges have been closed for weeks in Shimoga and Kodagu (Coorg) districts.
